Furthermore, this research aimed to explore the impact of the TBLT approach on students' motivation in the EFL class. The participants were a group of 12 secondary education students from a private Catholic school in Viña del Mar. Three data collection instruments were applied, specifically: focus groups, reflective journal, and communicative writing tasks. A edagogical intervention with 10 sessions was developed to include the TBLT approach and the pragmatic competencies mentioned above. Main findings reveal that the use of communicative activities and pragmatics competences in English classes improve students' writing skills and positively modifies their motivation to participate in English classes. Likewise, a change is demonstrated in the recommendation to carry out a more in-depth study with students from other cycles in order to explore other age groups within the same institution, in order to establish the effectiveness of the objectives proposed in this research considering a greater number of participants.application/pdf95 hojasenAcceso abiertoHandwriting instructionForeign languagesLanguage instructionLanguage laboratoriesSecondary educationEnseñanza de la escrituraLengua extranjeraEnseñanza de idiomasLaboratorio de idiomasEnseñanza secundariaLinguistics applied to language teaching master programme development of pragmatic competences through communicative tasks to improve the english writing skills of the students of secondary schoolTesis MagísterODS: 04https://creativecommons.orghttps://ror.org/0171wr661Social SciencesCiencias SocialesEducational SciencesCiencias de la EducaciónCurriculum and PedagogyCurrículo y Pedagogía
